The San Gabriel Police Officers' Association is the union body for the police officers of the San Gabriel Police Department. The membership is comprised of non-supervisory police officers and detectives. The main goal of the SGPOA is to protect the rights of each member, and to ensure fair working conditions for each employee. In addition, the SGPOA has taken it upon itself to work in close partnership with the community, and strives to provide the best police services that each community member deserves. SGPOA members also volunteer their time and effort in assisting various charities in San Gabriel and the surrounding communities.
The City of San Gabriel is located approximately 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley. With a population of over 42,000, the city is serviced and protected by 57 dedicated, and highly trained professional police.
