Argument sparks shooting in Covina
An argument ended with one man firing a round at another man Sunday.
Covina Police Sgt. Bob Bobkiewicz said the intended target wasn’t hit.
Police don’t know yet what started the argument in the 300 block of North Prospero Drive.
A group of African-American residents were having a party in the pool area of the apartment complex at 1:30 p.m. Sunday when a Latino in his mid 30s got into an argument with one of the partygoers, according to Bobkiewicz.
Bobkiewicz said the man pulled out a gun and fired one shot. He then fled.
The victim also left.
When officers arrived, Bobkiewicz said there were about 40 people at the scene. They were uncooperative, he said.
The suspect was described as a Latino in his mid 30s with a shaved head, between 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and of medium build. He wore a white T-shirt and dark short pants.
