SGPOA Mourns the Passing of Retired Sergeant Ken Butler
It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of retired sergeant, Ken Butler. Ken was recently diagnosed with liver cancer and succumbed to this horrible disease on Thursday November 13, at 7:10 pm. Ken was a highly regarded, and well respected member of the San Gabriel Police Department for 30 years. Prior to joining the San Gabriel Police Department, Ken was a United States Marine, and served in Vietnam. His military service was something that he was extremely proud of, and spoke of his service often. Ken was the last of the "Old School" police officers, and supervisors. The likes of which we will not see again. Ken's assignments included patrol and several stints in the detective bureau. Those who had the chance to work with him were very fortunate. He was always willing to share his vast knowledge, and experience with those he worked with and supervised. Ken was a very good man, and he will be greatly missed.
To our brother Ken Butler, we will miss you, "Rest In Peace" and "Semper Fi," we have the watch.
